Abstract: SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR LOCATING A VEHICLE KEY INSIDE A VEHICLE The present invention provides a system (200) for locating a vehicle key (100) inside a vehicle. The system (200) includes a GPS module (102) comprising of a GPS transponder (104) integrated with the vehicle key (100), and a control unit (202). The control unit (202) is configured to activate the GPS module (102) for a 3D GPS coordinate of the vehicle key (100) and identify the location of the vehicle key (100) by comparing the 3D GPS coordinates and datum coordinates stored in the control unit (202). The control unit (202) is configured to map the 3D GPS coordinates of the vehicle key (100) on the 3D layout of an interior of the vehicle and display the identified location of the vehicle key (100) including altitude information on a display screen (210) of an infotainment system (204).
