MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641112460 A) filed by Andhra University on September 18, 2026, for System And Method For Joint Sensor Deployment And Auv Path Planning In Underwater Networks.

Inventors include Murali Krishna Vedula; Dr. T. Venkata Ratnam; Dr. K. Raja Kumar; and Dr. S. Pallam Setty.

The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a system (100) and method for coordinated sensor deployment and autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) traversal in an underwater wireless sensor network. The system (100) comprises a computing device (102) having a processor (104) and a memory (106), where the processor (104) executes plurality of functional modules (108) including an underwater environment modelling module (110), a sensor deployment planning module (112), an AUV path planning module (114), a performance evaluation module (116), and an adaptive decision and reconfiguration module (118). The system (100) generates a three- dimensional underwater environment model, multiple candidate sensor deployment configurations for sensor nodes, and corresponding traversal paths for at least one AUV, jointly evaluates the configurations, and adaptively selects and updates a coordinated deployment and traversal strategy based on changing underwater and network conditions.
