Abstract: ABSTRACT SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR INTEGRATED POSTPARTUM MENTAL HEALTH SCREENING AND BREASTFEEDING PATTERN MONITORING IN LACTATING MOTHERS The present invention provides an integrated digital health system (100) for monitoring postpartum mental health and breastfeeding patterns in lactating mothers. The system comprises a mobile application module (110) configured to administer the Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale (EPDS) for depression and anxiety screening, a breastfeeding data collection module (120) for recording feeding practices including frequency, duration, and exclusive breastfeeding status, and a data processing unit (130) for calculating standardized scores, identifying correlations between mental health indicators and breastfeeding outcomes, and stratifying risk levels. A healthcare provider interface (140) enables clinical professionals to access patient data and receive evidence-based intervention recommendations. An alert generation module (150) monitors predefined trigger conditions including EPDS scores exceeding validated thresholds and generates notifications for clinical attention. The invention addresses the bidirectional relationship between postpartum mental health and breastfeeding success through an integrated monitoring platform enabling early intervention and improved maternal-infant health outcomes.
