MUMBAI, India, Aug. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621064305 A) filed by Indian Institute Of Technology Indore on May 21, 2026, for System And Method For Integrated Anaerobic Digestion, Biogas Reactor Design, Techno-Economic Analysis, And Policy Integration.
Inventors include Dr. Mayur Shirish Jain; and Sugato Panda.
The application for the patent was published on August 28, 2026, under issue no. 35/2026.
Abstract: ABSTRACT SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR INTEGRATED ANAEROBIC DIGESTION, BIOGAS REACTOR DESIGN, TECHNO-ECONOMIC ANALYSIS, AND POLICY INTEGRATION The present invention relates to an integrated system and method for anaerobic digestion–based biogas and compressed biogas (CBG) plant design and evaluation, particularly for Indian feedstock, climatic, and policy conditions. The invention provides a computer implemented technical framework that links biological process modelling, biogas reactor design, techno economic analysis, and government policy integration within a single execution environment. Measurable feedstock and operational inputs are processed using field validated Indian digestion coefficients to compute biogas yield, reactor volume, geometry, and operational stability parameters. The biologically constrained outputs are propagated to techno economic computations to generate financial viability indicators, including internal rate of return, net present value, and debt service coverage ratio. Applicable government incentive schemes are dynamically incorporated into capital expenditure and financial evaluation. The invention provides physically constructible reactor designs, improved sizing accuracy, operational stability indicators, and bankability oriented outputs for biogas and CBG projects in India.
