Abstract: A stability analysis system for a multi-source multi-converter DC microgrid (DCMG) comprises an impedance modelling unit deriving closed-loop source and load impedances (Zs, ZL) of subsystems separated at a DC bus and a minor loop gain as the ratio thereof; a pole determination unit determining a number (P) of open-loop right-half-plane poles thereof; a frequency response unit generating Bode magnitude and phase responses of both impedances; a forbidden region identification unit identifying forbidden regions (FR), bounded by crossing points (CP1, CP2), wherein |Zs| exceeds |ZL|; a phase difference evaluation unit determining, from the phase- difference amplitudes at those crossing points alone, whether a 180-degree phase crossing exists therein, without a crossing boundary or the Nyquist contour; a crossing classification unit classifying each crossing as clockwise (CC) or anti-clockwise (ACC); and a stability determination unit declaring the DCMG stable when a Nyquist encirclement number (N) equals -P.
