The application for the patent was published on October 02, 2026, under issue no. 40/2026.

Abstract: A system (100) for identity verification of one or more individuals may include an image acquisition unit (102) to capture image data associated with one or more individuals, a biometric processing unit (106) operatively coupled to image acquisition unit (102), an optical assembly (104) having one or more mechanically adjustable optical parameters, and a control unit (108) operatively coupled to biometric processing unit (106) and optical assembly (104). Biometric processing unit (106) may perform biometric identity verification on image data and generate at least one biometric confidence metric indicative of a confidence level associated with an identity determination. Control unit (108) may determine whether biometric confidence metric satisfies a predetermined confidence criterion, generate one or more actuation commands for adjusting optical assembly (104) when criterion is not satisfied, cause acquisition of additional image data and repeated biometric identity verification, and verify an identity upon satisfaction of the predetermined confidence criterion.
