MUMBAI, India, June 30 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611056197 A) filed by Abhinav Mishra; Aditya Singh; and Pallavi Goel on May 03, 2026, for System And Method For Heart Disease Risk Prediction Using Machine Learning On Apache Spark.

Inventors include Abhinav Mishra; Aditya Singh; and Pallavi Goel.

The application for the patent was published on June 26, 2026, under issue no. 26/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a system and method for heart disease risk prediction using machine learning on Apache Spark. The system receives cardiovascular patient records including age, sex, chest pain type, resting blood pressure, cholesterol, fasting blood sugar, electrocardiographic results, maximum heart rate, exercise- induced angina, ST depression, slope, fluoroscopy vessel count, thallium status, and target class. An Apache Spark distributed computing layer processes the records using Spark MLlib. A preprocessing module performs imputation, normalization, standardization, discretization, integration, and outlier handling. A feature selection module identifies clinically relevant predictors, while a machine learning module trains decision tree, random forest, support vector machine, Naive Bayes, neural network, and ensemble models. A prediction module supports batch and real-time risk prediction. An interpretation module ranks critical risk factors including chest pain type, ST depression, maximum heart rate, and vessel count. The system improves scalability, reduces computational time, and provides accurate, interpretable cardiovascular risk prediction. (Accompanied Figure No. 1-)
