Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a system (102) and a method (200) for hardware-assisted display orientation management in an electronic device. The system (102) may include a processor (104) to receive graphical content associated with a user interface (108), render the graphical content into at least one source buffer and determine a display orientation parameter corresponding to a selected display orientation upon rendering the graphical content. The processor (104) generates, using a hardware graphics acceleration module (118), rotated graphical data from the graphical content stored in the at least one source buffer detects an occurrence of a display synchronization event associated with a display refresh cycle, switches a display buffer from a current destination buffer to the at least one destination buffer and transmits the rotated graphical data from the switched destination buffer to a display device for displaying the graphical content in the selected display orientation.
