Abstract: SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR GRID-AWARE BIDIRECTIONAL POWER TRANSFER AND VEHICLE-TO-LOAD ENERGY SUPPLY The present invention relates to a power transfer device (100) for an electric vehicle (EV) (130) comprising a housing (102) having disposed therein a bidirectional power circuit (170) electrically coupled between a power-side interface (104) and an EV-side connector (108). The power transfer device (100) further comprises a grid-sensing circuit (114) configured to detect a status of an external power source (180) and a microcontroller (110) configured to actuate a safety interlock assembly (106) comprising a first pair of relays and a second pair of relays to enable controlled routing of electrical power. The power transfer device (100) operates in a charging mode and a vehicle-to-load (V2L) discharging mode, ensuring electrical isolation of the external power source (180). A signaling interface (112) with a resistance network (350) enables vehicle-specific protocol matching to initiate discharge operations. FIG. 1
