MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641124671 A) filed by Sangeeta Panigrahi on October 17, 2026, for System And Method For Governing Longitudinal User State And State-Dependent Artifacts In Conversational Interactions.

Inventor includes Sangeeta Panigrahi.

The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.

Abstract: SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR GOVERNING LONGITUDINAL USER STATE AND STATE-DEPENDENT ARTIFACTS IN CONVERSATIONAL INTERACTIONS. A method governs a user's longitudinal state in conversational artificial-intelligence systems. An authoritative longitudinal state and a monotonic state epoch are stored from initial user-profile inputs (402), and state-dependent artifacts are stored with the current epoch value (404). For a natural-language message (406), a typed perception signal identifying a potential transition is generated (408) and assigned an evidence tier from source provenance and semantic event type, independently of model confidence (410). Comparing the tier with a transition-specific evidence floor yields a commit outcome, or a pending outcome storing a pending-transition record while the prior state remains authoritative; the epoch advances upon either (412). A response reflecting any pending record is generated (414), superseded-epoch items are blocked (416), and the response or a fallback is provided (418), avoiding stale or prematurely committed outputs.
