MUMBAI, India, Aug. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611070330 A) filed by Indian Institute Of Technology Mandi on June 05, 2026, for System And Method For Geospatial Structural Inventory Generation Using Street-Level Imagery.

Inventors include Sukh Sagar Shukla; Dhanya J; and Devansh Banga.

The application for the patent was published on August 07, 2026, under issue no. 32/2026.

Abstract: ABSTRACT SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR GEOSPATIAL STRUCTURAL INVENTORY GENERATION USING STREET-LEVEL IMAGERY The present invention relates to a geospatial structural analysis system (100) and method (200) for generating a geographically referenced structural inventory using street-level imagery. The system (100) comprises a geospatial acquisition unit (102) configured to acquire geospatially associated street-level images and metadata, an image processing unit (104) configured to preprocess images and extract building-associated image portions, a duplicate filtering unit (106) configured to eliminate overlapping representations of a same physical building structure, a structural categorization unit (108) configured to classify non-redundant structural image data into predefined structural typologies, a geospatial visualization unit (110) configured to generate a geographically referenced structural inventory map, and a model training unit (112) configured to generate customized structural categorization models. The method (200) comprises acquiring (202), preprocessing (204), comparing (206), categorizing (208), and generating (210), thereby enabling automated and geographically synchronized structural inventory generation. FIG. 1 will be the reference figure.
