MUMBAI, India, Sept. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611104895 A) filed by Panipat Institute Of Engineering And Technology Piet on August 31, 2026, for System And Method For Geodesic Cyber Drift Detection And Selective Network Isolation.
Inventors include Mr. Anurag Vashist; and Mr. Piyush Babele.
The application for the patent was published on September 11, 2026, under issue no. 37/2026.
Abstract: The present invention provides a system and method for geodesic cyber drift detection and selective network isolation. Cyber-event telemetry relating to users, identities, devices, applications, workloads, services and network relationships is processed to construct a dynamic cyber graph and a cyber-state manifold. Trusted geodesic behavioural paths representing legitimate operational trajectories are determined within the manifold. Current behaviour is compared with the trusted paths to determine geodesic drift comprising one or more of distance, direction, velocity, persistence and curvature. Upon detection of significant drift, drift across multiple cyber entities may be correlated and a probable propagation corridor of abnormal cyber activity is predicted. A minimum-impact isolation boundary is determined from the measured drift and predicted propagation and selectively enforced through available network, identity, workload or endpoint controls. An isolated entity is restored after return to an approved trajectory and successful verification, thereby facilitating threat containment while reducing disruption to unaffected computing resources.
