MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511021480 A) filed by Indian Institute Of Technology Delhi on March 10, 2025, for System And Method For Generation And Propagation Of Polarization Entangled Photons Simultaneously With Classical Signals.
Inventors include Kanseri, Bhaskar; and Pathak, Nishant Kumar.
The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a system and a method for generation and propagation of polarization entangled photons simultaneously with classical signals in C- band. The present disclosure discloses a technique for generating and propagating polarization-entangled photons along with classical signals within a single telecom grade fiber in the C-band, thus facilitating seamless integration of quantum communication technologies with existing telecommunications infrastructure. This disclosure provides an integrated scheme for generating polarization-entangled photons and sharing them along with classical data without the need for WDM-type multiplexers, offering an efficient solution that supports both entangled photon generation and simultaneous propagation with classical signals.
