The application for the patent was published on September 11, 2026, under issue no. 37/2026.

Abstract: The invention provides a system (10) and method for generating an early-warning indication of a Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) condition in a communication network. A processing subsystem (210) captures, preprocesses and temporally aggregates network traffic to establish a normalized benign traffic representation. A state transition module (250) applies a Discrete Laplace Transformation (DLT) to the normalized benign traffic representation and to an expected benign traffic representation generated by a neural traffic-behaviour model to obtain first and second transformed representations, respectively. A temporal-domain deviation and a transformed-domain deviation between the respective representations are jointly used to train the neural traffic-behaviour model. Subsequently observed network traffic is processed to determine an anomaly score representing deviation from expected benign network traffic behaviour. A thresholding module (260) derives progressively increasing warning thresholds from statistical characteristics of anomaly scores associated with benign network traffic, and an early-warning generation module (270) generates a network-security warning state according to the anomaly score relative to the warning thresholds.
