Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a system and method for verifying execution-state continuity of an autonomous software agent. The system (100) comprises at least one processor (102) configured to receive lineage data, runtime attestation data, and execution-state data associated with execution of the autonomous software agent (104). The processor (102) is further configured to generate a synthetic identity artifact using a cryptographic derivation operation dependent on the lineage data, the runtime attestation data, and the execution-state data, and to regenerate the synthetic identity artifact during execution of the autonomous software agent (104). The processor (102) is configured to compare the regenerated synthetic identity artifact with an expected identity continuity state and to detect identity divergence indicative of unauthorized fork execution, unauthorized replication, substitution, or execution tampering associated with the autonomous software agent (104).
