MUMBAI, India, Aug. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641101851 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology on August 24, 2026, for System And Method For Generating A Dynamic Crop Health Signature And Predicting Pre-Symptomatic Crop Stress.

Inventors include P Ushapreethi; Sanjay S; and Pradhibha K.

The application for the patent was published on August 28, 2026, under issue no. 35/2026.

Abstract: A crop health monitoring system (106) and method for generating a Dynamic Crop Health Signature (214) and predicting pre- symptomatic crop stress are disclosed. One or more processors (202) receive satellite observations associated with an agricultural field (112) from a plurality of satellite sources (102). The received satellite observations are preprocessed and fused to generate a unified crop dataset. An adaptive Artificial Intelligence (AI) model (210) configured to execute one or more ML models (212) processes the unified crop dataset together with historical crop information to generate the Dynamic Crop Health Signature (214) representative of a continuously evolving physiological condition of a crop. The one or more ML models (212) are continuously updated using newly acquired satellite observations. The Dynamic Crop Health Signature (214) is compared with reference healthy crop signatures to predict pre-symptomatic crop stress, determine preventive agricultural actions, and generate early-warning notifications, thereby enabling timely intervention before visible crop symptoms develop.
