Abstract: The present invention relates to a system and method for evaluating text associated with the legal document. The invention provides a reference-free evaluation framework configured to assess quality of text corresponding to a legal document based on a plurality of evaluation measures. The system processes the legal document and the text to determine measures including legal relevance, legal coherence, legal consistency, and language fluency. In one aspect, negative samples are generated by applying perturbations to the text, enabling contrastive evaluation. The system further utilizes embeddings generated using a language model to compute the evaluation measures and aggregates the measures to produce an evaluation score. The invention facilitates automated, domain-aware assessment without requiring reference summaries. Figure 1 is the representative figure.
