MUMBAI, India, Aug. 10 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641091879 A) filed by Mohan Babu University on July 29, 2026, for System And Method For Evaluating Mechanical Properties Of Eggshell Powder Incorporated Sustainable Concrete.

Inventors include Mr. Shaik Nurulla; Mr. R. Srinivasa Rao; Mr. M. Pavan Kiran; Ms. Prity Yadav; Mr. B. Praharshan Reddy; Mr. K. Venkatesh; and Mr. G. Chaitanya Kumar Reddy.

The application for the patent was published on July 31, 2026, under issue no. 31/2026.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a system (100) and method (200) for manufacturing and evaluating sustainable concrete compositions incorporating egg shell powder as a partial replacement for cement. The system comprises a material preparation unit (102), a cementitious mixing unit (104), a replacement control unit (106), a particle conditioning unit (108), a specimen preparation unit (110), a non-destructive testing unit (112), a mechanical testing unit (114), a durability evaluation unit (116), a microstructural characterization unit (118) and a predictive correlation unit (120). Egg shell powder is incorporated into M30-grade concrete in replacement proportions ranging from 0% to 20% by weight of cement. Concrete specimens are cast and cured for predetermined durations and subsequently subjected to ultrasonic pulse velocity testing, compressive-strength evaluation, hydrochloric-acid durability analysis and SEM-EDS characterization. The particle conditioning unit improves hydration behavior, while the predictive correlation unit establishes an empirical relationship between ultrasonic pulse velocity and compressive strength. The disclosed invention enables sustainable concrete production, enhanced durability and efficient non-destructive quality assessment.
