MUMBAI, India, Sept. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641078245 A) filed by Raptee Energy Private Limited on June 24, 2026, for System And Method For Estimating Vehicle Riding Harshness Using Speed-Adaptive Roughness Evaluation.

Inventor includes Prithivi Raj S.

The application for the patent was published on September 11, 2026, under issue no. 37/2026.

Abstract: ABSTRACT SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ESTIMATING VEHICLE RIDING HARSHNESS USING SPEED-ADAPTIVE ROUGHNESS EVALUATION The present invention relates to a riding harshness score estimation system and method. The system comprises a Vehicle Control Unit (100), an accelerometer (101), a speed sensor (102), a filtering module (103), an RMS calculation module (104), an IRI estimation module (105), a decision comparator (106), a target IRI lookup table (107), a riding harshness score module (108), and an output interface (109). Vertical acceleration data acquired from the accelerometer (101) is filtered and processed to determine a root mean square acceleration value. The IRI estimation module (105) generates an estimated roughness value, which is compared with a speed-dependent target roughness value selected from the target IRI lookup table (107). Based on the comparison, riding events are classified and accumulated to generate the riding harshness score (108). The system enables vehicle-integrated riding harshness assessment using onboard sensor data and speed-dependent roughness evaluation. Fig.1
