MUMBAI, India, Sept. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641110148 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology on September 14, 2026, for System And Method For Environmental Equilibrium-Based Proximity-Bound Cryptographic Key Derivation And Zero-Trust Peer Authentication.

Inventors include Suganya D; and Ms Shabreena.

The application for the patent was published on September 18, 2026, under issue no. 38/2026.

Abstract: The present invention provides a system and method for proximity-bound cryptographic key derivation and zero-trust peer authentication using localized environmental conditions. A Synchronization Engine (103) synchronizes acoustic and optical observations acquired by a first device (101) and a second device (102). An Environmental Equilibrium Object (104) models localized environmental interactions, while a Cross-Modal Equilibrium State (CMES) Generator (105) identifies temporally aligned cross-modal equilibrium conditions. An Environmental Phase Coupling Graph (106) is generated and deterministically transformed by a Deterministic Environmental Graph Collapse (EGC) module (107) into a canonical topology. A Canonical Topology Extractor (108) and Topological Invariant Analyzer (109) generate a locality-bound representation from which a Cryptographic Key Derivation module (110) derives a cryptographic key. The derived key enables Zero-Trust Peer Authentication (111) and establishment of a Secure Encrypted Communication Channel (112), while Continuous Environmental Monitoring and Dynamic Re-Authentication (113) maintains security against replay, relay, and spoofing attacks without centralized servers, GPS, or conventional PKI.
