Abstract: [086] The present invention relates to a system and method for English grammar error diagnosis using integrated rule-based and contextual language processing modules. The system receives English textual input and performs normalization, sentence segmentation, tokenization and linguistic preprocessing to generate grammatical and syntactic representations. A rule-based grammar analysis module applies predefined linguistic rules for detecting grammatical deviations, while a contextual language processing module evaluates contextual grammatical plausibility using relationships among words, phrases and sentence structures. A diagnostic fusion module combines deterministic rule evidence and contextual evidence to determine an error category, location, confidence value and validity of a detected grammatical error. An exception evaluation mechanism reduces false-positive diagnoses by evaluating acceptable contextual and domain-specific constructions. A correction generation module generates and validates correction candidates according to grammatical validity, contextual compatibility and sentence coherence. An explanation generation module provides a grammatical rationale and suggested correction. The system may further employ error dependency analysis for multiple interacting errors and adaptive feedback for improving diagnostic behavior. The invention provides an explainable, context-aware and scalable framework applicable to language learning, professional writing, educational assessment, document processing and automated English communication systems.
