MUMBAI, India, June 30 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641073691 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology, Chennai on June 13, 2026, for System And Method For Enabling Navigation Of Autonomous Agents Toward A Designated Goal.
Inventors include Muthumanikandan V; Srikar Ganesh; and Sreeya Srikanth.
The application for the patent was published on June 26, 2026, under issue no. 26/2026.
Abstract: A decentralized coordination system (100) for enabling navigation of a plurality of autonomous agents (102) toward a designated goal in a shared environment. The system (100) includes a sensor module (104) configured to detect environmental parameters including obstacles and spatial data, a communication module (108) configured to interface with a shared memory (114), a locomotion and control unit (112) for executing movement, and a processing unit (106) operatively coupled thereto. The processing unit (106) is configured to initiate exploration, generate navigation paths using path planning algorithms, record traversed path data, and transmit environmental and path data to the shared memory (114). Upon one autonomous agent (102) reaching the designated goal, a traversed route is published as a victory path (116) in the shared memory (114). Remaining agents detect the victory path (116), determine a nearest reachable entry point, and navigate along the victory path (116) to reach the goal.
