MUMBAI, India, July 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641078344 A) filed by Dr. Dinesh Nilkant on June 25, 2026, for System And Method For Emotion-Aware Messaging Using Real-Time Mood Selection, Visual Indicators, And Communication Tagging..

Inventor includes Dr. Dinesh Nilkant.

The application for the patent was published on July 03, 2026, under issue no. 27/2026.

Abstract: ABSTRACT [501] Contemporary digital communication platforms such as WhatsApp and Telegram are primarily text-based, providing no structured mechanism for capturing and embedding emotional intent at the point of message composition. Existing approaches, including emoji insertion and post-delivery reaction systems, are used inconsistently, added after message drafting, and remain disconnected from the communication process itself, resulting in ambiguity, misinterpretation of tone, and reduced clarity in digital conversations. [505] The present invention discloses a System and Method for Emotion-Aware Messaging that integrates a mandatory pre-message Emotion Selection Interface, a Dynamic User Interface Adaptation Engine, a structured Emotion-Tagged Messaging Protocol, a Cross-Platform Integration Layer, and an Emotion Analytics and Behavioral Tracking System into a unified digital communication framework. The system requires users to select an emotional state before composing a message, dynamically adapts the messaging interface with color-coded backgrounds and animated emoji overlays corresponding to the chosen emotion, and embeds emotional metadata — including emotion type, color code, and emoji identifier — within each outgoing message. [510] The invention eliminates ambiguity inherent in text-only communication by ensuring that emotional context is captured intentionally before message formulation, transmitted as structured metadata alongside message content, and rendered visually for recipients as colored message bubbles and emoji indicators. An optional AI-based Emotion Suggestion Engine using Natural Language Processing further enhances accuracy of emotional expression. The system includes privacy controls, user-defined custom emotion categories, a cloud-based data synchronization infrastructure, and an analytics dashboard providing mood trend visualizations, collectively constituting a novel, scalable, and user-accessible emotion-first digital communication paradigm. ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention discloses a System and Method for Emotion-Aware Messaging Using Real-Time Mood Selection, Visual Indicators, and Communication Tagging. The system integrates a mandatory pre-message Emotion Selection Interface, a Dynamic User Interface Adaptation Engine providing real-time color-coded and animated visual feedback, a structured Emotion-Tagged Messaging Protocol encoding emotional metadata within each message, a Cross-Platform Integration Layer, an AI-Based Emotion Suggestion Engine, an Emotion Analytics and Behavioral Tracking System, a Privacy and Selective Control System, a User-Defined Custom Emotion Framework, and a Cloud-Based Data Storage and Synchronization System. The invention eliminates emotional ambiguity in digital communication by enforcing intentional emotion selection prior to message composition, transmitting standardized emotional metadata with each message, and rendering emotional context visually for recipients, constituting a novel emotion-first communication paradigm with applications in personal communication, education, corporate environments, mental health support, and social media platforms.
