MUMBAI, India, July 30 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641088091 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology on July 19, 2026, for System And Method For Dynamic Wastewater Fingerprinting And Digital Twin-Based Treatment Optimization For Salon Facilities.

Inventors include Jayakumar Sadhasivam; Gowsik V; Pendekanti Sai Deepthi; and Lakshaya R.

The application for the patent was published on July 24, 2026, under issue no. 30/2026.

Abstract: The present invention discloses an artificial intelligence-based system and method for dynamic wastewater management in salon and personal care facilities. Wastewater generated from salon activities is analyzed using multi-modal sensing to determine physical, chemical, biological, and operational characteristics, from which a unique wastewater fingerprint is generated. The fingerprint is processed by an artificial intelligence engine to determine an optimized treatment recipe and dynamically reconfigure filtration pathways. A digital twin continuously synchronizes with the physical treatment infrastructure to monitor treatment performance, predict contamination trends, estimate component degradation, and optimize operations. The system further recovers reusable resources, evaluates treated water using a water reuse quality score, and autonomously recommends reuse, recycling, retreatment, or discharge pathways. Through predictive analytics, adaptive learning, and continuous optimization, the invention establishes a self-improving circular water intelligence ecosystem that enhances treatment efficiency, resource recovery, environmental compliance, and sustainable water management
