Abstract: A dynamic soil modulation system (100) for reversible regulation of soil pore architecture, moisture distribution, and aeration within a rhizosphere. The system comprises a plant-derived hydrogel matrix formed from biodegradable polymers, a cross-linking system with controlled cross-link density, and a soil integration matrix enabling uniform distribution in soil. The hydrogel matrix exhibits reversible swelling and deswelling in response to variations in soil moisture content. Upon hydration, the matrix expands to modify soil pore size and redistribute capillary water pathways, while upon dehydration, it contracts to restore pore connectivity and facilitate gas diffusion. The system maintains soil structural integrity without permanent pore blockage over repeated cycles. The invention further provides a method for incorporating the hydrogel matrix into soil to achieve cyclic and reversible modulation of soil porosity, thereby improving water retention and aeration across different soil types.
