Abstract: ABSTRACT “SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DYNAMIC MODULATION OF ILLUMINATION BEAM INTENSITY IN STOCHASTIC OPTICAL RECONSTRUCTION MICROSCOPY” The present invention provides a system (100) for dynamic modulation of illumination beam spatial intensity profile in stochastic optical reconstruction microscopy comprising a laser source (1), a light modulator (13), and a camera (20). The laser source (1) emits the light beam onto said light modulator (13) that sequentially displays a hologram pattern selected by user defined region of interest and dynamically modulates the light beam to reflect the pattern that is to be focused on a sample plane (18) to form an image on said camera (20). A method for dynamic modulation of illumination beam spatial intensity profile in a stochastic optical reconstruction microscope comprising step of focusing a light beam from a laser source (1) onto a light modulator (13) where a user defined hologram pattern is present to obtain a diffracted beam and creating a user defined illumination pattern on the specimen of the sample plane (18) to excite the specimen and form an image on said camera (20).
