MUMBAI, India, Sept. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641108530 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology on September 10, 2026, for System And Method For Dynamic Cyber Dna Fingerprinting And Evolutionary Analysis Of Cybercrime Complaints.
Inventors include E Malathy; Dr. Kavitha B. R; M Kaarthik; Nandha Gopal P; and Rohan Thakur.
The application for the patent was published on September 18, 2026, under issue no. 38/2026.
Abstract: A system (102) for dynamic Cyber DNA fingerprinting and evolutionary analysis of cybercrime complaints is disclosed. The system (102) receives a cybercrime complaint and associated digital evidence, processes the complaint and evidence to extract and normalize entities and cybercrime events, and determines evidence support. Behavioural intents and an attack sequence are determined from the cybercrime events. A Dynamic Cyber DNA fingerprint comprising interconnected genes representing intent, behavioural, communication, financial, temporal, infrastructure, and evidence characteristics is generated. The fingerprint is compared with previously generated Cyber DNA fingerprints based on direct entity relationships and behavioural similarity to identify candidate relationships. Changes between corresponding characteristics and preserved behavioural characteristics are determined. A candidate Cyber DNA evolutionary lineage is generated based on the changes, preserved behavioural characteristics, temporal information, and supporting evidence. An evidence-linked investigation output is generated identifying the candidate relationship, changes, preserved behavioural characteristics, and evolutionary lineage. FIG. 1
