MUMBAI, India, Sept. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641109893 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology on September 14, 2026, for System And Method For Distributed Hardware Interlocking And Pre-Generation Optical Suppression In Quantum Networks.
Inventors include Balasubramani M; Vedansh Gupta; Raj Kokate; Abhinav Arya; and Rohit Kumar.
The application for the patent was published on September 18, 2026, under issue no. 38/2026.
Abstract: The present disclosure proposes a system (100) for coordinating classical path reservation, quantum memory coherence evaluation, electronic locking of physical quantum memory resources, end-to-end path confirmation, and synchronized activation of optical generation hardware to reduce premature generation of entangled quantum states. The system (100) comprises a computing device (102) associated with each quantum network node and having a processor (104) and a memory (106) storing instructions executable by the processor (104). The processor (104) executes plurality of modules (108) comprising a path reservation and synchronization module (110), a quantum memory coherence evaluation module (112), a hardware interlock control module (114), an end-to-end path confirmation module (116), and an optical suppression and synchronized activation module (118). The modules (108) reserve a topological path and electronically lock quantum memory buffers against competing access before synchronized optical generation.
