Abstract: A system 100 and method for dismantling a battery 212 comprises a dismantling apparatus 200 configured with one or more units 210-260 enclosed in a housing 205 to maintain an inert environment. The one or more units 210-260 comprises a first unit 210 to hold batteries, a second unit 220 to cut terminals, a third unit 230 to drill holes, a fourth unit 240 to push out inner pouch of the battery 212 comprising valuable materials, and a fifth unit 250 to collect the inner pouch. The system 100 further comprises a control unit 10 to control the battery 212 movement between one or more units 210-260 and to maintain the inert environment. The system 100 and method systematically dismantles battery 212 to maximize material recovery, reduces human exposure to potentially hazardous battery materials, and enables efficient recycling of battery materials.
