MUMBAI, India, July 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202531066075 A) filed by Earthflow Research Private Limited on July 10, 2025, for System And Method For Determining Real-Time Composition Of The Liquids.

Inventors include Sandeep Diliprao Kulkarni; Jayanta Mondal; and Vishnu Chandrasekharan Nair.

The application for the patent was published on July 17, 2026, under issue no. 29/2026.

Abstract: ABSTRACT TITLE OF THE INVENTION: System and method for determining real-time composition of the liquids A method and system based on a sensor module with a processor therein is provided that can obtain a set of in-line, on-line or at-line measurements of a treated or untreated injection, produced or flow-back liquid/water/brine sample during a wellbore EOR, hydrofracturing or a completion operation or during liquid treatment operation. Based on a combination of unique measurements the method of the present invention and system thereof can determine the composition of the liquid/water/brine, specifically identifying levels of monovalent, divalent, and trivalent salts and/or ions. This liquid/brine/water analysis output can then be used to control the operations such as additive treatment during the wellbore completion, wellbore fracturing, enhanced oil recovery, or water shut-off procedures. The brine analysis can also be used in controlling the liquid/brine/water treatment plant operations. Other applications that could be relevant for this invention of continuous brine analysis include geothermal energy production, mining and mineral extraction, water treatment and desalination, carbon capture and storage, as well as various chemical and industrial processes.
