The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.
Abstract: The present invention discloses a system and method for detecting tampering of an electricity meter body cover. The system (100) comprises a computing device (102), an image acquisition module (104), an image classification module (106), an anomaly detection module (108), a seam analysis module (110), and a reference image repository (112). The system acquires and classifies an image of the meter body cover, identifies visual anomalies and a relevant joining region, and determines gap width, consistency, separation, and darkness of a target middle seam. The system compares the determined seam characteristics with corresponding reference seam characteristics of a company-fitted meter body cover and generates a classification indicative of a standard company-fitted cover or a tampered cover.
