Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a system (104) and a method (400) for detecting monotonous road conditions of roads. The system (104) receives video data from an image capturing unit (106) associated with a vehicle (102), extracts one or more features from each frame in the video data, and assigns an attention score to each of the one or more features. Then, the system (104) determines a similarity score based on similarity between the extracted features and the corresponding attention scores, from consecutive frames in the video data. The system (104) also determines a number of objects near the vehicle based on the video data, and determines whether a road (100) has monotonous driving conditions based on the number of objects and the similarity score. The system (104) improves road safety by detecting monotonous road conditions of roads, and alerting drivers to prevent driver hypnosis, and thereby preventing accidents.
