MUMBAI, India, Aug. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621082365 A) filed by Mr. Akshay N. Shetye; and Dr. Nilakshi Jain on July 03, 2026, for System And Method For Detecting Financial Fraud In Real-Time Communication Environments.
Inventors include Mr. Akshay N. Shetye; and Dr. Nilakshi Jain.
The application for the patent was published on August 28, 2026, under issue no. 35/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a system and a method for real-time financial fraud detection. The system receives synchronized heterogeneous data streams, including audio, video, textual, and session-level behavioral data. A preprocessing unit (104) standardizes these inputs, which are then aligned by a synchronization unit (106) into a common temporal timeline partitioned into sliding windows. A feature extraction unit (108) derives modality-specific descriptors, including spectral acoustic patterns, facial motion descriptors, semantic embeddings, and behavioral metrics. An authentication unit (110) computes a synchronization error by analyzing the alignment between lip-motion trajectories and phoneme-based acoustic representations. These features and the synchronization error are integrated into a unified feature vector, processed by a meta-learning unit to generate a fraud probability score. Finally, a classification unit categorizes the communication as fraudulent, suspicious, or genuine using a thresholding rule with hysteresis, enabling robust, real-time identification of complex fraudulent intent and deepfake manipulation.
