MUMBAI, India, Sept. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202631066240 A) filed by Vehere Technologies Private Limited on May 26, 2026, for System And Method For Detecting Anomalous Domain Name System (dns) Queries.
Inventors include Praveen Kumar; Gunavarshin Mokkala; and Naveen Jaiswal.
The application for the patent was published on September 18, 2026, under issue no. 38/2026.
Abstract: SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DETECTING ANOMALOUS DOMAIN NAME SYSTEM (DNS) QUERIES ABSTRACT A system for detecting anomalous Domain Name System (DNS) queries is disclosed. The system comprises one or more processors and a memory communicatively coupled to the one or more processors. The one or more processors are configured to receive a DNS query associated with network traffic and extract a plurality of features from the DNS query to generate a fixed-dimension feature vector representing characteristics of the DNS query. The one or more processors are further configured to compute a first deviation vector representing absolute differences between the fixed-dimension feature vector and a dynamically maintained global feature mean vector stored in the memory. The one or more processors provide the deviation vector to the trained machine learning model to perform forward inference and generate an anomaly probability associated with the DNS query, and classify the DNS query as benign or anomalous based on a predefined threshold.
