Abstract: A system 100 and method 1000 for detecting and classifying maritime vessels using Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) images is disclosed. The system 100 comprise a sensor 106 for capturing SAR images of a region of interest. The system 100 further comprise a processing module 108 for reducing noise and enhancing maritime vessel features using advance filter techniques. The system 100 further comprise a detection module 110 for identifying and providing positional information of the vessels, and the system further comprise a classification module 112 for categorizing the detected vessels into predefined types. The system 100 ensures accurate and efficient detection and classification of the maritime vessels, even in complex and dynamic maritime environments. [
