Abstract: ABSTRACT: Title: System and Method for Crowdsourced Detection, Validation, Georeferencing and Temporal Management of Road Speed Breakers Using Mobile Sensors The present invention relates to a system and method for crowdsourced detection, validation, georeferencing and temporal management of road speed breakers using mobile sensors. A mobile device associated with a travelling vehicle acquires accelerometer and optionally gyroscope data together with GNSS/GPS position, speed, heading, time and device-context information. A processing module conditions the sensor signals, detects candidate road-induced events and classifies the events from speed-breaker signatures while distinguishing potholes, rough surfaces, braking, manoeuvres and other disturbances. A geospatial module estimates the event position and map-matches the event to a road segment, carriageway and travel direction. Observations from independent trips, vehicles and devices are aggregated using evidence-weighted confidence based on spatial consistency, signal quality, event probability, observation independence and source diversity. A temporal lifecycle module maintains road features as candidate, active, uncertain, expired or removed states. Pass-by eligibility prevents unreliable non-detections from falsely removing features. The resulting validated database provides continuously updated and auditable road-safety information for authorized warning, fleet, mapping and road- management applications.
