Abstract: ABSTRACT System and Method for Contactless Respiratory Rate and Oxygen Saturation Assessment The present invention relates to a system and method for assessment of respiratory rate and oxygen saturation without contact. According to the invention, one or more contactless sensing devices obtain physiological image and sensor data, and the obtained information is processed by a physiological signal reliability assessment module, an adaptive multi-region sensing module, a dynamic physiological signal reconstruction engine, a multi-modal physiological fusion module and an adaptive physiological calibration module. Physiological parameters are determined by a respiratory rate and oxygen saturation estimation engine and the reliability of the measurements is validated by a confidence-guided physiological validation module, and a respiratory abnormalities identification module is an adaptive respiratory assessment module. An explainable physiological analytics module produces interpretable respiratory assessments with physiological confidence indicators and predictive respiratory trends. The cooperative operation of these modules improves the measurement accuracy, robustness against motion artefacts, illumination variations and environmental disturbances, reduces the erroneous physiological assessments and enables reliable, adaptive and non-contact respiratory monitoring for clinical and remote healthcare applications.
