Abstract: ABSTRACT SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CONFIDENCE-GATED WEARABLE PATIENT MONITORING AND CARDIAC-RHYTHM-BASED ALERT ESCALATION The present invention relates to a system and method for confidence-gated adaptive patient monitoring and cardiac rhythm-based alert escalation. A wearable device receives a physiological signal representative of the cardiac activity as well as signal acquisition information. At least one processor processes the physiological signal using an adaptive artificial intelligence model to detect a cardiac rhythm event, determine a patient risk state, and produce a confidence value. In case the confidence value does not meet the confidence criteria, the wearable device adjusts the signal acquisition procedure and receives another physiological signal. The patient risk state and confidence value are updated using the other signal, and one of increasingly escalating alert levels is selected. An alert is transmitted in case the updated confidence value meets the confidence criteria. Subsequently obtained physiological signals are analyzed to escalate, sustain, de-escalate or cancel an alert. FIG. 3
