MUMBAI, India, Sept. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641109894 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology on September 14, 2026, for System And Method For Common-Path Full-Field Interferometric, Image Acquisition Reconstruction, And Visualization.

Inventors include Tulsi Anna; Sandeep Chakraborty; Deepan Jayakumar; Dushyanth Sabanathan; and Nikitha Ravichandran.

The application for the patent was published on September 18, 2026, under issue no. 38/2026.

Abstract: The present disclosure proposes a system (100) and method for common-path full-field interferometric image acquisition reconstruction and visualization employing a Mirau interferometric objective and multiple reconstruction approaches for real-time comparative reconstruction, 2D en-face sectional imaging, and three-dimensional volumetric visualization. The system (100) comprises a broadband white light-emitting diode illumination source (102), collimation optics (103), a Mirau interferometric objective (104), imaging optics (105), a sample (106), a CMOS image sensor (108), a translation stage (110), a data interface and acquisition unit (111), and a computational platform (112). The computational platform (112) processes depth-resolved full-field interferograms using four-phase shifting reconstruction (121), Hilbert transform reconstruction (122), Riesz transform reconstruction (123), or derivative-based reconstruction (124) and provides comparative visualization (125) through a graphical user interface (127) together with en-face, and three-dimensional volumetric visualization.
