The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.
Abstract: Title: System and method for class-scoped, multi-modal facial recognition attendance with network-isolated camera bridging A system and method for class-scoped attendance recording in an academic environment is disclosed. Attendance evidence is received through independent capture channels, namely a scheduled fixed classroom camera, a group photograph, an individual photograph and a live mobile self-scan with liveness challenge, each reduced to a common recognition event. Each event is matched only against students timetabled for the session being recorded. A single decision engine converts a similarity score, a liveness result and, for continuous video, a temporal corroboration count into automatic present, flagged for review, ignored, or untouched where the session is locked. A manually entered present or on-duty status cannot be downgraded by any automated event. Where a camera lies on an isolated private network, a separately authenticated agent submits frames outbound over HTTPS, requiring no virtual private network or inbound firewall change. Capture channels are enabled per academic program, and thresholds are recommended from human-confirmed sessions. Main Illustrative:
