MUMBAI, India, Sept. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202631105166 A) filed by National Institute Of Technology, Patna on September 01, 2026, for System And Method For Chemotherapy Drug Infusion Control.
Inventors include Kumar, Shashank; and Kumar, Anupam.
The application for the patent was published on September 11, 2026, under issue no. 37/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a system (300) and method for controlling chemotherapy drug administration using a closed-loop control architecture. The system (300) comprises an input module, an error generation module (103), a Starfish Optimization (SFO) (106)-based Fractional-Order Fuzzy Proportional-Integral Proportional- Derivative (FOFPIPD) controller (105), a control signal generation module (305), and a patient model (107). The FOFPIPD controller (105) includes a fractional-order fuzzy proportional-integral controller and a fractional-order fuzzy proportional-derivative controller configured to process error and feedback signals for generating derivative kick-free drug infusion control outputs. The control signal generation module (305) combines the outputs to regulate drug infusion, while the patient model (107) simulates patient response and provides real-time feedback of actual drug concentration (102). The system (300) continuously adjusts drug delivery based on the desired (101) and actual drug concentrations (102), thereby enabling accurate, stable, and robust chemotherapy drug administration with reduced overshoot and improved therapeutic regulation.
