Abstract: The present invention relates to an artificial intelligence-based system and method for automated brain tumor detection and classification using Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scans. The invention is designed to improve the accuracy, speed, and reliability of brain tumor diagnosis while reducing the dependency on manual interpretation by radiologists. In the proposed system, MRI images are first subjected to preprocessing techniques such as noise reduction, normalization, and image enhancement to improve image quality for analysis. The processed images are then provided to a tumor detection module based on the YOLOv2 (You Only Look Once version 2) algorithm, which performs real-time identification and localization of tumor regions within the MRI scans using bounding box prediction techniques. After tumor detection, the identified tumor regions are forwarded to a classification module implemented using the MobileNetV2 deep learning architecture. The classification model automatically extracts relevant features from the detected tumor regions and classifies the tumors into benign and malignant categories with high accuracy and reduced computational complexity. The integration of YOLOv2 and MobileNetV2 enables efficient end-to-end processing, faster response time, and improved diagnostic performance compared to conventional methods that rely on manual feature extraction and segmentation techniques. The proposed invention provides an intelligent, lightweight, and scalable solution suitable for real-time clinical applications, assisting healthcare professionals in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning for brain tumor patients.
