Abstract: A system for biodiesel production using metal–organic framework catalyst and induction-based heating is provided. The system 100 includes a heterogeneous catalyst 104 that includes a copper–benzene dicarboxylate (Cu-BDC) MOF; an electromagnetic induction-based reactor 110 having a ferromagnetic stainless-steel base plate 112; and a stirring and condenser assembly 118 that is configured within the reactor 110. The rendered waste animal fat 102 in the reactor 110 is reacted with an alcohol reactant 108 in the presence of the Cu-BDC MOF catalyst 104 and an ionic liquid 106 under electromagnetic induction heating and mechanical stirring to perform transesterification that converts triglycerides into fatty acid alkyl esters and glycerol. The synergistic integration of the Cu-BDC MOF catalyst 104 and electromagnetic induction heating enables enhanced transesterification efficiency with reduced energy consumption and reaction time.
