Abstract: ABSTRACT SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR BIO-ECONOMIC HARVEST OPTIMIZATION USING ORGANOLEPTIC AND MARKET PREDICTION A method for bio-economic harvest optimization is provided. A mobile computing device (102) captures, using an image sensor (104) and an illumination source (106), an image of a crop (138) with a color reference target (108). A preprocessing module (112) applies color correction and adaptive histogram equalization to generate a normalized image. A feature extraction module (114) extracts a specular reflection feature characterizing cuticular wax decay, a chromatic gradient feature, and a morphological contour feature, and a quality estimation module (116) estimates a soluble solids value and a firmness index. A market grounding module (118) retrieves a wholesale price keyed on geolocation coordinates from a geolocation module (110). A forecasting module (120) generates forecast price and quality trajectories. An arbitration module (122) selects, by Monte Carlo tree search with a spoilage risk penalty, a harvest timestamp of highest net expected revenue. An output module (124) outputs a prescriptive harvest instruction. (Fig. 1)
