MUMBAI, India, July 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611062663 A) filed by Nims University Rajasthan, Jaipur on May 18, 2026, for System And Method For Bin Classification And Path Planning.

Inventor includes Jayant Shringi.

The application for the patent was published on July 17, 2026, under issue no. 29/2026.

Abstract: A system (100) for bin classification and efficient path planning comprising a sensing unit (105), a robotic arm (110) with an end- effector (110a), and a controller (115) is disclosed. The sensing unit (105) acquires multi-modal data including a three-dimensional point cloud and acoustic signatures. The controller (115) processes the data using a neural network to perform object classification and six degree-of-freedom pose estimation and computes a grip-risk index. The feasible pick poses are generated, and a multi-criterion weighted graph is constructed, wherein edge weights are based on distance, collision risk, grip-risk, and energy cost. An optimal picking path is determined, and control commands are generated to actuate the robotic arm (110) and the end-effector (110a).
