MUMBAI, India, July 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641076774 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology on June 21, 2026, for System And Method For Autonomous Home Cleaning Using A Dual-Esp Robotic Platform With Iot Hazard Monitoring And Ai Interaction.
Inventors include Deepika Rani Sona; Ayush Jaiswal; Saunok Roy; and Aarush Lenka.
The application for the patent was published on July 03, 2026, under issue no. 27/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to an autonomous AI-powered smart home cleaning robot integrating environmental hazard monitoring, IoT connectivity, and intelligent user interaction. The system employs a dual-controller architecture comprising an ESP32 microcontroller (109) for autonomous navigation, obstacle avoidance, and vacuum cleaning control, and an ESP8266 microcontroller (104) for environmental sensing and cloud communication. An ultrasonic sensor (105) mounted on a servo motor (107) performs directional scanning for obstacle detection and path selection. Environmental conditions are continuously monitored using a gas sensor (108), a temperature sensor (103), and a flame sensor (110). Sensor data is transmitted in real time to a cloud-based IoT dashboard for remote monitoring, visualization, and alert generation. An AI-powered chatbot enables natural-language interaction and contextual responses based on live sensor readings. The integrated architecture provides simultaneous cleaning, hazard detection, and intelligent environmental surveillance within a scalable smart-home platform.
