The application for the patent was published on August 14, 2026, under issue no. 33/2026.
Abstract: A system (100) and method for autonomous API contract evolution using runtime schema inference and backward compatibility synthesis are disclosed. The system (100) comprises a memory (102) configured to store executable instructions, schema representations, and compatibility mappings, a processor (104) communicatively coupled to the memory (102), and a communication module (106) configured to receive API interaction data from distributed software environments. The processor (104) executes a runtime schema inference module (108) to infer API schemas from observed request-response patterns, a compatibility assessment module (110) to evaluate compatibility among inferred and historical schemas, a backward compatibility synthesis module (112) to generate transformation rules and compatibility adaptations, and an adaptive deployment module (114) to implement synthesized transformations in runtime environments. The disclosed system (100) autonomously preserves interoperability between evolving API versions, reduces integration failures, minimizes manual intervention, and supports adaptive software communication across dynamic distributed computing ecosystems.
