MUMBAI, India, July 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621057721 A) filed by Sage University on May 06, 2026, for System And Method For Automatic Labour Emergency Alerting.
Inventors include Dr. Prashant Jain; Prof. Suranjit Kosta; Unnati Chourasiya; and Dr. Ati Jain.
The application for the patent was published on July 03, 2026, under issue no. 27/2026.
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to system and method for automatic labour emergency alerting. The system (100) includes pressure sensor (106) generating first sensor signal corresponding to abdominal tightening (202) produced by uterine contraction, motion sensor (108) generating second sensor signal corresponding to body posture change (204), and acoustic sensor (110) generating third sensor signal corresponding to vocalization and breathing disturbance (206) without continuous audio recording. Control circuitry (104) confirms onset of labour exclusively upon detecting concurrent recurrence (212) of the first sensor signal, the second sensor signal, and the third sensor signal across minimum of two consecutive sensing intervals. Upon confirmation, the control circuitry (104) transmits local alert signal to receiver alert device (114) via wireless communication interface (116) independent of internet connectivity and routes remote alert signal to cellular communication interface (122) to dispatch call and short message to predefined contact numbers (210) in a single response event.
