Abstract: [0090] ABSTRACT SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR AUTOMATIC ESTIMATION OF A HEIGHT OF A VEHICLE OCCUPANT Embodiments disclosed herein provide a method and system for determining height of a vehicle occupant automatically. The method comprises (i) capturing, by an imaging 5 unit, real-time images of the vehicle occupant associated with the vehicle while a spatially aligned image capturing device associated with the imaging unit and the vehicle occupant are in movement; (ii) receiving, by a processing unit, the real-time images; (iii) identifying, by the processing unit, a region of interest around the vehicle corresponding to the vehicle occupant in the real-time images; (iv) generating, by the 10 processing unit, a plurality of grid segments for the identified region of interest; and (v) automatically determining, using a trained model and the processing unit, the height of the vehicle occupant based on pixel data corresponding to the plurality of grid segments and positional coordinates of the vehicle occupant in a coordinate system of the vehicle. 15 Fig.: 1
