MUMBAI, India, June 30 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441102347 A) filed by Countai Private Limited on December 23, 2024, for System And Method For Automatic Defect Inspection And Operator Assessment In A Circular Knitting Machine.
Inventor includes Harshavardhan Thirupathi.
The application for the patent was published on June 26, 2026, under issue no. 26/2026.
Abstract: The present invention discloses a system and method for causality-aware defect inspection and operator assessment in a circular knitting machine (104). The system comprises an external camera (102) to capture an image of surroundings of a circular knitting machine (104). Further, the system may comprise an internal inspection unit (106) to analyze captured images to detect defects in the fabric and/or data collection unit attached to knitting machine. An automatic defect processing unit (110) receives the at least one analyzed image data from the internal inspection unit (106) for decision making. The automatic defect processing unit (110) detects fabric defects and operator activities, temporally correlates operator interventions with detected defects, and dynamically controls machine operation using a post-intervention defect tolerance window. Defects occurring immediately after operator actions are conditionally suppressed, and persistent defects trigger machine stoppage. The system improves productivity, reducing false stoppages, and enabling intelligent machine control.
